.....doodles of cats
and a dog and Winston Churchill, anyone know who the other 3 doodles are
of ?
(I think it may of the guy in the above picture, seated second row,
behind the 'B' off to the right,
there are two men with 3 stripes upper arm sitting beside each other,
the one on the left looks like it could be the artists model or maybe a
self portrait ?)
one of the loose notes
it says : - 225 -

To Adjutant 89 Bde Rga.
Reference R 2570/1 dated 8/9/18
Reconnaissance has been made of W 21 d and vicinity.
There is a (two words scored out) fairly good position at W 21 d 60.70
but approaches are difficult.
Roads in W 21 d and b are only fit for motor transport in dry weather.
Road running South from HENDECOURT past BRICK YARD and w 26 b 60 90 is
good.
There is a possible position, but with not much flash cover at W 27 a 2.
9. about 100 yards east of main road.
D. L. Hemmingway
Capt. RGA 225 - S.B. Rgt. (see
above for more)
(again with the help of
'The
Great War Forum', we think
this is Douglas Lennox Hemmingway)
