Model of  7.2 Howitzer

Model of 7.2 Howitzer
This type of gun was used by the 8th (Belfast) Regiment in Burma to lob shells into tunnels which were hidden behind high walls.
When the gun fired it ran backwards up the ramps and then back onto its original position, ready for the next round.
This model was made in Burma in the back of a lorry by Gunner R. McMillen, it was presented to Major A. H. Bates O.B.E.
who was second-in Command of the Regiment
[unfortunately the shells have been lost]
