HUGH NELSON B.E.M.
died aged 64 on 21st November 1954

Crew of 1st lifeboat in Donaghadee in 1910 - took part in over 160 launches

Was 2nd Coxswain for over 24 years and became Cox of Sir Samuel Kelly in 1949

During 39/45 war he was Admiralty Pilot

In 1953 he saved 36 of the 44 survivors of Princess Victoria on 31st January -
and awarded bronze medal of R.N.L.I.
