mostly during and after WW2 including Daily Mail Historic D-Day Tribute
Supplements from the 2000's
In Chronological order:- 1930s
London possibly G.P.O. installation of overhead cables or wires or something
to do with the infrastructure and photo could include Samuel Elliott if you
read his retirement clipping in the newspaper below for 1968 he worked as a
P.O. Engineer.

Elliott a certified pupil, was re-examined for the first time on First Aid
to the Injured in the month of February 1941 at the Ulster Belfast Centre of
the St. John Ambulance Association, and satisfied the Examiner.

airgraph, so pleased to hear you had landed safe and sound and we wish you
all the best of luck in your new surroundings with successful hunting, as
many kills as possible but don't take any undue risks. All were delighted to
hear you were well and happy. Sheila says she would dread the snakes and
insects. Mrs. M. & I are in Ireland just now on a few days holiday but on
return will try and get young John's latest address for you. We are still
kept busy at the Dump but very little changes, got my promotion to charge
pay through last week so things are looking up a bit. Have not seen Archie
for some time but he will no doubt be giving us a visit one of these days.
Roy Ridgway and Dick Booker are expecting to be on draft shortly. Roy has
got his first stripe. Hope the photos turn out O.K. Mrs. Ma? will be anxious
to see them when you return, you made our mouths water when you mentioned
"steak & chips". Well look after yourself and if not feeling up to the mark

1944 to 1947 but may have started earlier as it seems like they have stuck
renewals over the top of each other on the first page, also the date written
at the very back of the license says 18th Sept. 1930, may not be relevant.
Driving License Samuel Elliott, address scored out 18th September 1943,

1) 1967? Rugby Football. C.I.Y.M.S. annual meeting. At the annual
meeting of C.I.Y.M.S Rugby Club in the Minor Hall, Belfast, last night, the
retiring president, Mr. Samuel Bowles, presided and Mr. J. F. Auld read the
minutes. The annual report was presented by Mr. L. C. Russell. Mr. H. C.
McCambley submitted the financial statement and Mr. Bowles moved and Mr. J.
C. Tinsley seconded the adoption of the reports. Mr. R. S. Ferguson was
appointed president and Mr. R. Cruden deputy president. E. W. Davies was
appointed captain of the first XV on the motion of G. Ross and J. Brady.

2) 1968 from the County Down Spectator in 1968 - Imperial Service Medal. Mr.
Samuel Elliott, of 38a Firmount Crescent, Redburn, Holywood, who received
the Imperial Service Medal last Friday. Mr. Elliott was for 33 years in the
Post Office Engineering Department. He retired in June.
3) 1968 Service Medals. Three telephone engineers received Imperial Service
Medals in Churchill House, Belfast this afternoon. They are Mr. Samuel
Elliott, 38c Firmount Crescent, Redburn, Holywood, who has been in the
engineering department for 33 years; Mr. J. Osborne, 44 Cussick Street,
Belfast, after 26 years' service, and Mr. W. H. Ellis, 93 Joanmount Gardens,
Belfast, after 31 years. The medals were presented by the Telephone Manager,
Mr. T. S. Wylie. 1970's

Singh, 11th Sikh Regiment, Indian Army, for a Burma exploit. On the night of
March 11, 1944, he commanded the leading section of a platoon ordered to
