EXPLANATION OF THE REGISTER

1.  Each name is preceded by School Registration Number and followed by House, Date of Birth, Name of Parent, Register No. of father, brothers or sons who are Campbellians;  Form and Date of leaving school;  Subsequent Places of Education;  distinctions (a)  at School  (b)  after leaving School;  other information and present address, if known.

2.  Campbellians who were dead or untraced in the 1938 edition have been omitted from this Register.  They appear, however, in the index with the figures 38, showing that particulars for them last appeared in the 1938 edition.

3.  Numbers between 3073 and 3499 are not in the order of arrival ay Campbell and include a number of boys who remained at Cabin Hill as seniors during the evacuation to Portrush.  For these numbers the date of arrival at Campbell has been included in the particulars.  Two numbers have been duplicated and there is no trace of nine others.  Where necessary, lists of numbers appear at the beginning of each dated list of entries.
